Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician — This sterile processing role performs assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of operating room instrumentation in an acute care setting. The position supports orthopedic, spine, robotic, general, urology, gynecology, and ear, nose, and throat procedures.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) certification; at least 1 year of sterile processing department experience, including ultrasonic cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and vaporized hydrogen peroxide sterilization.
- Schedule: Evening schedule consisting of four 10-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of typical operating room instrumentation. Twenty-four-hour Saturday and Sunday call coverage is required every 8 weeks, with a 30-minute response time. Unit-specific orientation is provided.
