CT Technologist Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist (Computed Tomography) Specialty: CT/Xray Tech Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 8 hours (1:30 PM - 9:30 PM, with a rotating weekend schedule) Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CT experience License: Required Certifications: ARRT BLS Must-Have: 1 year of CT experience and fluoro experience Comfortable covering Xray Willing to accept first-time travelers Description: The department operates several scanners and rooms for imaging. There are 3 Xray units in Outpatient settings, including 1 for fluoroscopy, and 2 in the Emergency Department. CT has 1 unit in Outpatient and 1 in the Emergency Department. Technologists will need to float and cover areas in Xray and CT, including Emergency Department, Inpatient, and Outpatient settings. Common imaging and studies performed include patient care in Emergency Department, inpatient and outpatient settings, portable work, surgical cases, and fluoroscopy in the operating room. The average number of scans/studies performed daily includes approximately 80 Xray and 40 CT. The electronic medical record system is Cerner, and the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) is Sectra. The department uses Siemens and Fuji equipment for Xray and Siemens for CT. A Lead Technologist oversees the department. Radiologists are available on-site until 10 PM and remotely thereafter. Technologists are required to start IVs. Staffing includes 4 Radiologic Technologists during the day and 1 at night. Weekend shifts are scheduled every 3rd to 4th weekend. Holiday scheduling may be required. Scrubs are currently not provided, and there is no specific scrub color mandated. Department-specific orientation consists of 1 week in CT and 1 week in Xray. All personnel must clock in and out.
