Licensed Practical Nurse - Ambulatory Float Staff - LPN

Overview The Ambulatory Float Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works in a variety of dynamic specialty clinics and primary care including, but not limited to, the following locations: Baldwin, Gonda, Mayo Clinic, NE Clinic, NW Clinic, SE Clinic, and Kasson. Ambulatory floats provide direct patient care to support the unique needs of the clinical practice. The LPN role in the float practice consists of assisting with patient visits by providing support in a variety of ways including assisting with procedures, rooming patients, administering immunizations, among other skills related to direct patient care. The Ambulatory Float Pool supports 16 different LPN practices serving patients from pediatrics through adulthood. An individual LPN within the Ambulatory Float Pool will train and work in six to ten different practices, specialties, or locations based on FTE and practice mix. Hours are Monday through Friday, with varied start times from 7-8 am. The majority of the schedule is 7:45-4:45 based on unit need. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in ambulatory clinics as part of the Ambulatory Float Pool. Assist with procedures, room patients, and administer immunizations. Support patient visits and care planning in collaboration with RNs and providers. Train and work across six to ten different practices, specialties, or locations based on FTE and practice mix. Qualifications LPN license and ability to provide nursing care under the supervision of an RN or supervisor. Collect data through observation and communicate information to assist the RN and/or provider in patient assessment and care planning. Demonstrated communication skills, mentoring, and instructing abilities; may participate on committees or projects including quality improvement projects. Ability to work in a team and follow patient care plans, policies, and procedures of the organization. #J-18808-Ljbffr
