Dental Asst - Dentist Assistant

UTHealth Houston's School of Dentistry is hiring for a Dental Assistant I/II to join their team of professionals. The Dental Assistant will be responsible for chairside dental assistance , sterilization of dental instruments, building patient relationships, and more. The ideal candidate will have experience in dental supply and inventory management.

Resources for child and elder care
Perform routine tasks assisting the professional dental staff and students in the examination and prophylactic, therapeutic and surgical treatment of patients. Works under direct supervision.
Assists in the teaching of dental students, dental assisting students, and dental hygiene students in the principles of four-handed dentistry and dental assistant utilization (DAU).
Provides chair side assistance to students and faculty.
Maintains sterile, and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies within working area.
Maintains infection control standards.
Maintains records of patients seen, procedures performed, materials used, and appointments.
Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
Basic office or computer skills.
Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning. xywuqvp
Dental Assistant by Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) required


High School Diploma or equivalent required Completion of a recognized dental assistant educational program preferred
