Network Planning Sales Engineer Associate (Summer 2026) Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, expanding humanity’s reach into the solar system. Today, Astranis satellites provide dedicated, secure networks to highly sophisticated customers across the globe—large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the U.S. military. With five satellites on orbit and many more set to launch soon, the company is servicing a backlog of more than $1 billion of commercial contracts. Astranis is the preferred satellite communications partner for buyers with stringent requirements for uptime, data security, network visibility, and customization. Associate positions at Astranis typically last for twelve weeks, are salaried, and are designed for new graduates from a four‑year university. As an Associate, you will work on hard problems, designing and testing hardware/software for space and potentially transitioning to full‑time employment. Role Pre‑sales and post‑sales network architecture and planning, optimizing high‑throughput satellite networks by balancing numerous parameters: Digital payload configuration Orbital slot selection and frequency planning Gateway location(s) selection User terminal selection Networking / modem equipment selection and configuration The role blends technical and customer‑facing work, offers high visibility and impact, and includes 1:1 mentorship from a senior sales engineer. Requirements Strong ability to optimize systems by juggling many variables, considering all options, and running detailed trade studies Process‑oriented mindset – constantly seeking more efficient ways of doing things and anticipating features needed from internal and external tools Scripting language experience, preferably Python Enjoy a fast‑paced environment, with just the right amount of chaos Not all criteria must be met – apply anyway Bonus Knack for math Ability to craft high‑quality presentations, deliver them to potential partners, and answer challenging technical questions Willingness to travel a bit ( Compensation Base salary: $1,925 per week.
