REGIONAL MAINTENANCE TECH 1

Primary Purpose The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, repair, align/calibrate, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and instrumentation, as well as assist local and regional personnel in the development of safety procedures and policies for specific systems and facilities. The position can be in Colton Terminal, Watson Terminal, or Carson Terminal. What You Will Do Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and calibrate equipment such as pumps and motors, mainline and manifold control valves, turbine and positive displacement meters, proving equipment, tank gauging equipment, pressure and temperature gauges and SCADA equipment and interfaces. Maintain and repair electrical equipment including valve actuators, medium voltage switchgear and substation equipment, motor circuit protectors, motor control centers, truck loading equipment and control systems, remote station control systems, pressure transmitters, tank level measurement systems, tank high level alarm systems, electronic and PLC‑based controllers, digital display equipment, lighting circuits, safety systems and devices. Maintain records required by Department of Transportation for designated equipment and devices, and maintain maintenance and repair records for area equipment. Maintain accurate and timely CMV logs and documentation. Assist in training of other technicians in all aspects of maintenance. Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public. Support all regional projects and work with other station personnel when needed. Assist with corporate engineered projects including preoperational testing, startup and commissioning. Work with vendors and their technicians on new or repaired/upgraded equipment. Inspect and document contract work on company assets. Support company and contract inspectors on area and regional projects. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on terminal and mainline equipment. Learn and use Computer Based Maintenance Management System. Maintain lubrication schedule on terminal and mainline equipment. Act as a floating technician to assist various locations as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High school diploma, Technical school degree or equivalent preferred. Experience as a skilled technician and industry related experience. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and ladder diagrams, mechanical drawings, aerial strip maps, and maintain as-built drawings. Good communication skills, self‑motivation, assertive style. Ability to be trained internally and through external technical programs. Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of refined petroleum product pipeline systems and equipment for station and terminal operations. Knowledge of occupational hazards and required safety precautions, DOT requirements for calibration and maintenance records, safety inspections and reports. Certification, Licenses, Registrations Satisfactory driving record and a current, valid State driver’s license. Pass Commercial Motor Vehicle physical. If applicable, obtain or possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. Compliance with any license or certification requirements or training as stipulated by local, state or federal agencies or the Company. Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Self‑motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision. Well‑balanced interpersonal skills, flexible, team oriented, professional demeanor. Mechanical aptitude. Physical Demands Physically capable of completing training requirements. Work outside in varying weather. Perform physical labor including walking, bending, stooping, climbing tanks, digging, lifting. Work may involve confined spaces, rough terrain. Climb tanks (average approx. 60 steps) safely. Visual acuity and hearing for alarms. Extended sitting for administrative tasks may be required. Working Conditions Location may be in Boomington, CA (Colton Terminal). 24‑hour emergency call‑out, work long hours, weekends, nights, holidays. Carry cell phone/pager and respond 24/7. Occasional overnight travel required. May work alone unsupervised. Possible exposure to refined oil products and vapors, with health risks. Exposure to weather extremes depending on location. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and experience working with construction contractors. Experience in pipeline inspection. Experience with petroleum storage and dispensing operations. Pipeline hydraulics experience. Basic knowledge of Cathodic protection. Knowledge of piping, valves and pressures. Knowledge of pipeline operations. Experience with storage tank operations, including inspections, alarms and sampling. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: USD $49.00 – $64.00 per hour.
