Job Description

This role focuses on performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on conveyor, bottling, and packaging systems in a highly organized food manufacturing facility. You will respond to service calls across the plant, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, and carry out both corrective and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of production machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on conveyor, bottling, and packaging systems throughout the facility.

• Field and respond to service calls across the plant to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.

• Identify and resolve stoppages on machines and conveyors to minimize downtime.

• Change and replace motors, drives, belts, gearboxes, chains, and related mechanical components.

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including cylinders and pumps.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair photo eyes, switches, and other control-related components.

• Read and interpret schematics to support accurate troubleshooting and repair activities.

• Perform preventative maintenance during designated cleaning windows, typically 2–3 hours every 1–2 days.

• Support the reliability and performance of new conveyor systems, blow molding lines, packaging lines, and other production equipment.

• Use personal basic tool set to complete daily maintenance and repair tasks.

• Work at least one weekend day as part of a rotating schedule while maintaining two days off each week.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair industrial equipment.

• Experience or strong interest in industrial maintenance, particularly in a production or manufacturing environment.

• Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance activities on mechanical systems.

• Knowledge of hydraulics, including troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic components.

• Knowledge of pneumatics, including cylinders and related pneumatic systems.

• Experience working with motors, including three-phase motors.

• Ability to troubleshoot and service gearboxes and related drive components.

• Familiarity with conveyor systems and conveyor maintenance.

• Ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics.

• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills sufficient to support maintenance activities.

• Ability to use and maintain a personal basic set of tools required for daily work.

• Willingness and ability to work at least one weekend day while maintaining a two-day-off schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing maintenance is highly desirable.

• Experience with pumps and hydraulic systems is a strong plus.

• Welding experience is beneficial for certain repair tasks.

• Comfort working with switches, photo eyes, and related control devices.

• Interest in continuing education in a related technical field, supported by paid education opportunities.

Work Environment

This position is based in a food manufacturing facility operating 12-hour shifts from 6:00 to 6:00, on either days or nights. Schedules typically follow either Monday–Wednesday plus every other weekend or Wednesday–Friday plus every other weekend, and you can expect to start on day shift for 4–6 weeks before transitioning to your regular schedule. The environment is a standard food production setting, generally cold throughout most of the facility but not uncomfortable, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness and organization. The company has invested heavily in modern equipment over the past several years, including brand-new conveyor systems, blow molding lines, and packaging lines, creating a clean, efficient, and well-organized work area. Dress is practical and comfortable, and steel-toe footwear is not required, allowing you to wear tennis shoes while working.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Little Rock, AR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
