Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech

Job Details:

• Work in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting handling an average of 10 cases per day
• Start times range from 5:00 AM to 6:30 AM depending on role
• Weekend rotation is on-call only
• On-call responsibilities include once per month weekend 24-hour call Saturday/Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM and end of shift call up to once per week with a 30-minute response time
• Holidays are on-call only as needed
• Cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Perform and assist with cardio and thoracic surgeries including CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, robotic thoracic cases (lobectomy, hernia repair), generator exchanges, lead extractions, heart transplants, and Fem-Pop bypass procedures
• Travelers will circulate only - surgical team always has two RNs per case (Circulator and Med RN)
• Strong CVOR background required with ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Experience in a fast-paced environment required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required for RN, ORT, and Surgical Assist roles
• Not recommended for first-time travelers
• Charting system experience with EPIC required (not required for Anesthesia Tech)
• Additional equipment used includes Alaris, Pyxis, and DaVinci XI
• Required certifications for ORT: BLS and graduation from an accredited school (required); CST (preferred)
• No floating required for Surgical Tech role
• Scrubs are provided
• Parking is free

Facility:

This facility is a 938-bed Level III Trauma Center with Magnet Designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center status. The cardiovascular operating room consists of 8 CVOR beds and is supported by a department supervisor and manager, a team lead without case assignment, 24/7 anesthesia availability, a surgical assistant lead, and a 24/7 house supervisor. The facility utilizes advanced technology including the DaVinci XI robotic surgical system and maintains a comprehensive weekend support program with shared supervision across all operating rooms.
