Construction Equipment Operator Job Overviews – IA Road Construction Jobs Construction Equipment Operator – Asphalt Paving: Under the direction of the foreperson, paving equipment operators will be responsible for operating several types of road construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This equipment may include, but is not limited to asphalt paver, paver screed, steel drum roller, rubber tire roller, skid steer, shaping tractor, power broom, and plate tampers. ________ Construction Equipment Operator – Grading: Under the direction of the foreperson, paving equipment operators will be responsible for operating several types of road construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This equipment may include, but is not limited to front-end loaders, bulldozers, motor graders, rollers, and other pieces of excavating equipment. ________ Construction Equipment Operator – Motor Grader: Under the direction of the foreperson, the Motor Grader “Finish Blade Operator” should have the ability to balance a roadway prior to finish grade and final tolerance using bluetops and/or electronic blade controls. The Finish Blade Operator should be proficient at finish grading, including super curves, turn lanes, parking lots, and shoulder construction. ________ On the job training will provide the knowledge and skills to become a productive member of one of our crews with the potential for advancement opportunities.
