Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

This position is essential for providing high-quality care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. As a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in CVOR, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care during surgical procedures. You will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and guiding the operating room team while maintaining effective communication with patients, families, and various healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assess Patient Needs (40%): Evaluate the needs of the surgical patient, develop individualized care plans, implement and evaluate these plans during procedures, and make necessary adjustments to prioritize patient safety.
• Supervise Operating Room Activity (30%): Oversee activities in the operating room, anticipate and coordinate schedule changes, prepare equipment and supplies, assist anesthesia as needed, and monitor the sterile field.
• Effective Communication (20%): Engage in clear communication with patients, families, physicians, operating room teams, supervisors, managers, and ancillary departments.
• Professional Development (10%): Participate in staff development through in-service training, educational meetings, and seminars to enhance leadership skills and clinical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
• Experience in open heart procedures is required.
• Recent travel nursing work history is highly preferred.
• Current Michigan/MI RN license (active status) is required.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association are required.
