JOB TITLE: Press Assistant (PA)

LOCATION: Shelton, CT

Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4pm to 2pm. Will train on first shift 6am-4pm for 90 days.


Pay: $19/hr while training. Shift increase once moved to 2nd shift.

1. Basic Function/Summary

Press Assistants are responsible for building press parts, delivery of parts, and assisting the RCS Press Operators changing over the parts on the Gallus RCS 430 printing press.

1. Essential Functions include the following (note: other duties may be assigned)

The Press Assistant is responsible for:

1. Delivers parts, materials, tools and supplies to Press Operators.
2. Reviews Press schedule and stages orders for Press Operators.
3. Assists Press Operators as needed to clean and set-up Printing Press.
4. Installs and removes print heads, unwind units, hot stamps, material and dies.
5. Mounts printing plates on cylinders and sharpens squeegee blades.
6. Maintains production area by removing garbage and organizing supplies.
7. Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles ink trays/chambers.
8. Operates and maintains parts washing units and properly disposes of used materials.
9. Participate in Process Improvement projects.
10. OT and switching of shifts may be required at times.
11. Expected to perform job functions at times, alone with no supervision or assistance.

1. Skills/Aptitudes:

1. Good mechanical skills
2. Basic computer and math skills.
3. Able to read, write and speak English.
4. The candidate must have the ability to use, read and interpret scientific measurement and inspection tools devices.
5. Team player, good organizational skills, and attention to detail.
6. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to interface with all departments.
7. Prior related experience preferred.
