Responsibilities Technical Systems Support Services: perform troubleshooting, tear‑down, repair, refurbishment, overhaul, assembly, testing, and installation of designated equipment for FAALC Product Divisions or Groups. Engineering Technician Services: provide electronic systems/subsystems/component troubleshooting, repair, assembly, refurbishment, installation, calibration, testing; design test fixtures and prototypes; analyze equipment performance; comply with FAA/FAALC standards. System/Subsystem/Component troubleshooting, repair, and test: diagnose/eject components, disassemble/assemble, calibrate, certify. Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Test: assemble cables, wiring harnesses, circuit cards; install equipment and perform test/calibration. Equipment Installation: install electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems; perform adjustments, test, and certification. NAVAID antenna and component repair. Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting. Circuit board testing and repair. Production and repair of electronic cables and wire; perform equipment performance analyses, information collection and reporting. Equipment adjustment, testing, and installation of equipment and components, and modifications. Installation and maintenance of NAS radomes. Structural inspection of towers and tower components at heights 50–750 ft; maintenance of tower structures. Perform lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crane, truck, vehicle operation; good depth perception. Attend all training classes related to repair procedures and safety. Work independently to perform preventive and corrective maintenance per FAA policy. Basic troubleshooting: fault isolation, removal, replacement of line replaceable units. Prepare FAA assets for shipment to/from field sites and vendor locations. Enter time into Data Collection and Reporting System daily. Keep crew leads informed of tasks and status. Tower climbing and work at heights >50 ft. Perform corrosion control and prevention. Operate equipment such as boom lifts and motorized forklifts. Work from ropes at heights. Install electronic and mechanical systems on NAS and inter‑agency systems. Weight limits 125–290 lb; apply physical fitness evaluation. Travel up to 70% and possible emergency call outs. Qualifications An associate degree in electrical or engineering technology or equivalent formal technical training. Physical fitness evaluation including weight limits 125–290 lb. Practical experience in electronic technician support, including troubleshooting, repair, assembly, testing, installation. Assist in developing, reviewing, updating engineering documentation; soldering, tool, and test equipment usage. Assist in producing, reviewing, revising, interpreting technical documents. NACI clearance – ability to obtain Public Trust. Estimated monthly travel 70%. Valid driver's license and two forms of unexpired identification, including one primary government‑issued ID and one secondary ID. Desired Qualifications Rope repelling/on‑rope work at heights. Specialized knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, procedures, and operations. Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components. Preventative maintenance and replacement of tower, radome and cab glass components. Experience operating boom lifts, motorized forklifts, working at heights. Completion of trip reports.
