Analog Engineer IV Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for an Analog Engineer IV at our Lynnwood, WA location. Job Summary The Analog Engineer IV is a senior contributor who works highly independently and uses established procedures to perform assigned tasks by working cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers. Provide engineering design and analysis services for DC/DC power converters and filters for space and Hi‑reliability applications. Responsibilities include technical proposals, requirements management, detailed architecture of topology and control, detailed circuit design and analyses (including part selection for radiation‑hardened/tolerant circuitry), product performance, customer presentations, schedule, and cost requirements. May lead a team of engineers on assigned projects. Salary Range: $166,067.99 - $194,682.84 (actual salary may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors). Some roles may be eligible for performance‑based bonus programs. Essential Functions Model and simulate circuit or system performance of DC/DC power converters and filters using analytical tools. Perform detailed design and analysis of discrete implementation of power converter control circuitry resistant to performance degradation due to radiation effects. Design and analyze filters. Integrate, test, and develop DC power conversion hardware for spaceflight and Hi‑Rel applications. Investigate and evaluate new power topologies and controls for spaceflight applications. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet customers’ electrical, environmental, and internal manufacturing requirements and standards. Mentor junior engineers. Act as the technical interface for customers and attend technical meetings as required; support specification development with customers. Translate market specifications into design requirements and generate required design documentation for prototype and/or production releases. Document new designs per established guidelines, including simulations, test circuit measurements, and tolerance analyses. Provide input to the development of test procedures, fixtures, and software. Respond to market trends and requirements for product development specifications. Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management. Eligibility Requirement This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. If access is required, only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Minimum Qualifications 10+ years experience in microelectronic DC/DC power conversion and control system design, including knowledge of radiation effects on components and circuits. Proven experience with high reliability hardware design from concept to delivery. Proficiency in analog modeling tools (Symetrix, Simplis, Ansys Maxwell, Mathcad, or equivalent). Knowledge of complex DC/DC power topologies and control circuitry; discrete analog circuit design; power electronics technology, including temperature‑compensating analog circuits, radiation‑tolerant components, reference compensators, magnetic design, and planar magnetics. Excellent documentation, organization, and time‑management skills; ability to write procedures, reports, and acceptance tests. Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects through complete development cycle. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment and mentor others. BS degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s or PhD preferred. Working Conditions Standard office environment. Requires substantial visual concentration on detail.
