Bulk Sales Specialist

Bulk Sales Specialist (Open) Location: Long Island City, NY; Bronx, NY; Hamburg, NJ; Islandia, NY (Plant); Oakland, NJ (Plant). About the Role As an Airgas Bulk Gas Sales Representative, you will regularly call on customers within your sales territory to maintain business, increase sales, and improve the company's competitive position in the sale of bulk gases, equipment, and safety related supplies. You will identify and qualify prospective customers and will be required to meet and exceed corporate and regional objectives for sales growth, profitability, and A/R management within the assigned territory. Responsibilities Develop and advance regional company specific sales and marketing plans. Implement Bulk Gas "Target Account Planning and Tracking System" and provide updates on a monthly basis to sales and product management. Cultivate and grow partnerships with new and market-leading accounts with emphasis on obtaining product supply agreements. Review regional sales goals and gross profit margins within the assigned territory and monitor effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts. Act as a technical resource for customer(s) and regional retail sales associates in the area of bulk and bulk gases. Establish and maintain clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, areas of improvement, new customer developments and other customer specific information. Collaborate with local Branch managers to assist in promoting sales and customer management through retail store locations within assigned geographical area. Travel throughout assigned territory to connect with regular and prospective customers. Identify and understand the needs of prospective customers within assigned area or territory and keep direct manager informed of such information. Interpret customer needs and make appropriate recommendations to foster sales opportunities. Research and analyse market data in assigned area or territory to determine new customers, sales volume potential and pricing, and develop a strategy to meet sales targets. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred. Ideally a minimum of 5 years of related outside sales experience. Requires a valid driver's license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by the company. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to navigate a high-volume setting. Thoughtful analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of industrial gases, welding supply and hardware desired. Experience in supporting change, including building sponsorship, communications, and stakeholder management. Comfortable using a computer and having a working understanding of Word, Excel, SAP, etc. Professional presence and demeanor reflective of a corporate office environment. High level of energy, collaborative and proactive, with strong customer service and relationship orientation. Compensation & Benefits Base pay: $87K–$95K plus commission. Monthly auto allowance.
