Beautiful residential area, Senior Housing/ Assisted Living building located in Long Island looking for a Working Chef to inspire resident meals.

Responsibilities:

• Creating/preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents under the direction of the Regional Food Services Director.

• Ensure all meals made follow the recipes provided by Amber Court Assisted Living.

• Food handler’s license/certification preferred.

• Preference given to those with Adult Care Facility experience.

• Salary range based on culinary experience and working with a residential senior population.

• Preferred 1 year of cooking experience.

• Lead a diverse kitchen team in a fast-paced environment, while promoting collaboration and respect amongst staff from varied backgrounds. Utilize emotional awareness to maintain a positive work atmosphere, effectively manage a team and support department morale during high-pressure service times.

Hours: 10am - 6pm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00

Work Location: In person (one site)

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours) and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Requires frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.

• Exposure to hot surfaces, open flames, and sharp utensils.

• Must be able to tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, including walk-in refrigerators/freezers and warm kitchens.

• Work schedule may include weekends, holidays, and early morning or evening shifts based on resident needs.

Experience:

• Cooking: 1 year (Required)
