Job Title

RN (Registered Nurse) – ICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (18:30–06:30) | Every other weekend required | Minimum of 2 holidays within contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Manage and titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment, with tele tech oversight also in place
• Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, overdose/substance abuse, post-stent, pacemaker placement, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress cases
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
• Float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg as needed, maintaining comparable patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must successfully pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher (administered on Wednesdays); failure to pass will result to contract termination
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health, are not eligible
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required for contract continuation
• If placed on call and called back in, must be able to arrive within 30 minutes

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU travel or contract nursing experience
• Experience titrating cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation in a critical care setting
• Familiarity with GE cardiac monitoring systems
• Experience caring for stroke, trauma, and complex cardiac patient populations
