HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I - Rehabilitation Research to perform clinical and field-based research in conjunction with one or more specified clinical research protocols related to musculoskeletal injury rehabilitation. This entry level position for the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) series supports the Center for Advanced Research for Military Optimization, Readiness, and Rehabilitation (ARMORR) within the Uniformed Services University Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. Responsibilities Screens patients for eligibility in participation of research protocol. Interviews patients for protocols and collects and analyzes appropriate data for recruitment purposes, determines patient commitment and obtains informed consent. Educates patients about the research protocol, their roles in the protocols, and any other vital information. Collects, organizes, catalogs, disseminates, and maintains appropriate files of current data. Maintains weekly/monthly status reports on all patients. Works with PI and IPRL staff to write protocols and consent forms for Institutional Review Boards. Assists with, plans, executes, and/or oversees applied field-based research in support of the ARMORR CHAMP mission, such as research related to human performance and musculoskeletal injury prevention and treatment. Coordinates all aspects of study planning, logistics, recruitment, and data collection. Adheres to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy. Assures that protocol requirements are achieved within Good Clinical Practices. Schedules patients for appointments and visits. Assists with monitoring audits/visits for protocols. Travels from their assigned workplace to support protocols at other sites as needed. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study. Minimum of 0-2 years experience required. Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects. Excellent interpersonal and computer skills. Ability to communicate effectively and to work with individuals of all levels. Must be familiar with Institutional Review Board activities and Institutional Biosafety Committee actions. Must be able to set and meet deadlines. Previous research experience in a related field (e.g., kinesiology, athletic training, rehabilitation, etc.) Ability to understand and utilize medical, orthopedic, and rehabilitation terminology with other health professionals and potential study participants. Well-developed analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check. Physical Capabilities Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs. Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods. Work Environment This position will take place primarily in a clinic setting. Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $46,100-$73,700.
