Nurse Practitioner Or Physician AssistantWe are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Gastroenterology team in Shreveport, LA. This position works collaboratively with gastroenterologists and hospitalists to provide high-quality care for hospitalized patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions.The APP will play an important role in supporting the inpatient GI service, particularly while physicians are performing procedures, by assisting with patient rounding, follow-up visits, and ongoing management of GI patients.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform inpatient rounding and follow-up visits for GI patientsEvaluate and manage hospitalized patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditionsSupport the GI service while physicians are performing proceduresWork closely with gastroenterologists, hospitalists, nursing staff, and other members of the care teamOrder and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testingAssist with treatment planning and ongoing patient managementEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up careMaintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMRQualificationsCurrent Louisiana license or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantNational certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)Previous Gastroenterology experience preferredPrevious inpatient or hospital-based experience preferredStrong clinical judgment and ability to work collaboratively in a hospital environmentExcellent communication and organizational skillsSchedule & CompensationMonday–Friday7:00 AM – 4:00 PMFull-time, inpatient positionCompetitive compensation based on experienceComprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, malpractice coverage, PTO, CME allowance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match
