The Project Engineer position will successfully support Parks & Rec project types on behalf of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works. This is an outstanding opportunity to bring your specialized construction expertise to an industry leading team.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Assist top Project Manager on site in formulation of the design, bid, and Project phase scheduling of the assigned project(s).Provide update/status reporting for work in progress including costs and schedules.Assist in the Addenda and Bid process.Administer Project sub-contracts.Under the supervision of Project Manager(s) facilitate job site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.Maintain accurate records.Under supervision of Project Manager(s) conduct close out activities and assist with building occupancy.Assist the project management team with various parts of the project such as constructability review, value engineering, pay app reviews, schedule development, and execution.Under supervision of Project Manager, conduct pre-bid and job start meetings.Monitor contract compliance and report concerns to Project Manager.Under the supervision of Project Manager, facilitate job site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.Oversee approvals from applicable government agencies are received and documented.Under supervision of Project Manager, conduct close out activities and assist with building occupancy.Prepares field reporting for review by Project Manager.Perform QA/QC process.Review change orders for completeness and conformance to company and client standards.Review RFIs/Submittals for completeness before distribution to design team.Provide basic CPM scheduling and budget management.Review and maintain As Built drawings.Other duties as assigned.Attendance at work during normal business hours.Knowledge & Skills Required:Experience with Job Order Contracting (JOC) project delivery methods.Ability to facilitate site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to the company.Demonstrate an understanding of how project documentation impacts the project flow.Ability to read blueprints.Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.Understand how your role contributes to the organization's goals.Deliver quality work product by role modeling organizational core values.Hold self accountable to individual and team goals.Consistently communicate and collaborate with team members and clients.Build relationships with peers, leaders, and clients.Proactively participate in self-development to continually enhance current skills and build new skills required to excel at current role and prepare for career progression.Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently.Demonstrate sound judgement and logical decisions making skills.Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment.Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.Preferred Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or related field.3-5 years of prior experience in project construction management.Prior experience with JOC project delivery method highly preferred.Prior experience with public contracting process and procedures highly preferred.Cumming Group is committed to providing Equal Employment Opportunity in its personnel policies and practices. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package.
