ISCO Industries is an end-to-end piping solutions provider that specializes in HDPE, working with leading edge technology that makes us a market leader.The Night Shift Machinist will fabricate using Manual and CNC mills and lathes to machine polyethylene HDPE pipe and sheet stock into valve spacers, end caps, branch saddles, blind flanges, and similar customized structures that meet customer specifications by performing the following duties:Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings and pic ticket orders to determine the materials, tools and equipment needed to complete workFollow quality control procedures when fabricating and assembling products per customer specificationsMaintain accurate records of materials used on "ticket"; locate and pull required materials from inventorySustain clean work area and equipment; follow safety procedures concerning use of equipment and materials for safe working conditionsOperate ISCO's equipment, cranes, and forkliftsUtilize a variety of hand tools, saws and cutting equipmentPerform other related duties as assignedBase Qualifications and CompetenciesEducation, Training and Experience:High School diploma or GEDPreferred two years of experience in machiningMaster Cam programming experienceFamiliar with Mazatrol, Fanuc, or Haas control panelsKnowledge and application of tools used in: welding, cutting, and measuring (tape measures, calipers, and micrometers)Understanding of carpentry and hand toolsRead and comprehend safety rules, operations, maintenance, procedure manuals, and blueprints/drawings for fabricationUnderstand/perform math functions of basic geometry, fractions, percentages and ratiosInterpret technical instructions in mathematical and diagram formProficient use of business email and basic internet usageQuality & Quantity:Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; consider ways to improve and promote effectiveness of fabrication operationsAudits own work to ensure quality and accuracy; maintain attention to detailComplete work in timely manner; works quickly, and with accuracyStrive to increase productivityDependability:Follow instructions, respond to management directionTake responsibility for own actions; keeps commitmentsCommit to long hours of work when necessaryCompletes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate planPrioritizes and plans work activities to meet deadlinesUses time efficientlySafety and Security:Observes safety and security proceduresReports potentially unsafe conditionsUses equipment and materials properlyProblem Solving:Identifies and resolves fabrication problems in a timely manner to ensure on-time delivery of product to customerAnticipates and plans for potential delays in fabrication; develops alternative solutionsTeamwork & Professionalism:Balances team and individual responsibilitiesGives and welcomes feedbackContributes to building a positive team spiritPuts success of team above own interests; supports everyone's efforts to succeedTreats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or positionAccepts responsibility for own actionsPhysical DemandsOccasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of forceRegularly exerting 10 pounds of force to move objectsRequired to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feelFrequent stooping, crouching, reaching, and walkingConstant talking, hearing, and seeing with close visual acuityWork EnvironmentWhen on the job, the machine operator is:Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes/airborne particlesOccasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions; extremes of cold/heat, humid conditions or work in high precarious placesThe work environment exposes individual to loud noises from moving equipment and machinesEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
