Mechanical Engineer Co-opThe primary responsibilities of this role are to: Design and test mechanical components and parts; Design and development of mechanical fixtures for hardware testing; Generate hardware test plans and protocols; Analyze test results and compose test reports; Troubleshoot problems during testing, assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules, and routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of their work.This is a 12 month co-op position beginning in January OR May of 2027.Your Tasks and ResponsibilitiesDesign and test mechanical components and parts;Design and development of mechanical fixtures for hardware testing;Generate hardware test plans and protocols;Analyze test results and compose test reports;Troubleshoot problems during testing and assume ownership of specific test methods and sub-modules;Routinely provide readouts to the larger hardware team about the progress of their work.Who You AreBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required Qualifications:Enrollment in an Mechanical Engineering degree program;Completion of at least second year of a Bachelors degree;Classwork in statics, dynamics, physics, and statistics;Attention to detail, positive attitude, good work ethic;Ability to independently troubleshoot;Teamwork experience through coursework, lab work, and/or internship.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with CAD software, Matlab, Python;Experience with finite element analysis Medical device classwork.Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $24.00 to $45.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc (if relevant).
