Plasma Center Paramedic - EMT-P

Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations, determining donor eligibility and managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and handling donor notifications. The role works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) and the Center Physician for medical issues. How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and respond to medical emergencies according to SOPs, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Consult the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when medical or technical issues arise, especially for unacceptable findings or donor safety concerns. Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Current state license or certification (EMT‑Paramedic). Current CPR and AED certification. State requirement for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
