Outside Sales Representative

Job Summary

We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative for a direct hire opportunity based in Spokane, WA, serving commercial and industrial customers throughout an assigned Washington territory. This field-based B2B sales role is ideal for a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys prospecting, developing new accounts, and building long-term partnerships with operations, maintenance, engineering, and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person customer visits.
- Manage and expand existing customer relationships within an assigned Washington sales territory.
- Conduct onsite visits to understand customer operations, equipment needs, service requirements, and upcoming projects.
- Recommend equipment, service, and technical solutions based on customer needs and business goals.
- Prepare quotes and proposals, follow up on opportunities, and move prospects through the sales process.
- Partner with internal sales and service teams to ensure responsive customer support and long-term account growth.

Compensation and Benefits

- Base salary of $65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
- On-target earnings of $100,000 to $160,000 or more.
- Uncapped commission based on gross margin performance.
- Monthly vehicle allowance plus mileage reimbursement.

- Approximately 75% field-based customer activity, with the remaining time focused on quotes, follow-up, and account management.

- Build long-term account relationships that support repeat business and territory growth.

- 3 to 5 years of outside sales, field sales, B2B sales, account management, or business development experience.
- Strong prospecting skills, including cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person relationship building.
- Ability to sell consultatively to commercial or industrial customers with varied operational needs.
- Strong communication, negotiation, follow-up, and customer relationship management skills.
- Comfortable learning technical products, equipment, service solutions, and industrial applications.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a territory with a high level of independence.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal sales, service, and leadership teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience selling into manufacturing, industrial, commercial, facilities, maintenance, operations, or engineering environments.
- Background selling equipment, service agreements, technical solutions, industrial products, or related B2B services.
- Existing familiarity with commercial and industrial decision-makers in the Pacific Northwest market.
- Experience working in a commission-based sales environment with gross margin or revenue performance goals.
