Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The CVICU Registered Nurse provides specialized care for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries and complex cardiovascular conditions. This role requires advanced clinical skills and the ability to manage critically ill patients with cardiac and multisystem impairments.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care with a focus on cardiac and post-surgical recovery.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and monitor intra-aortic balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz lines, and arterial lines.
• Titrate cardiac, vasoactive, and sedation drips to maintain optimal patient stability.
• Manage and care for ventilated patients, including ABG interpretation.
• Document all patient assessments and interventions accurately in Epic.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.

Qualifications:

• Possess ECMO experience and previous charge nurse background.
• Hold current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Demonstrate at least two years of professional experience in CVICU or similar specialty.
• Have prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Show proficiency in multi-system organ failure management, pulmonary artery monitoring, and line care.
• Be willing to float to units of equal or lesser acuity and adapt to various clinical settings.
