Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia, is now accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician position that is available in our division.

Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician is required to perform a variety of tasks in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment of all MCPS property within the county to maintain a condition of operating excellence. The Maintenance Technician works as part of a team to make repairs, internal and exterior in carpentry; door hardware and keying; installation, maintenance and repair for Mortise, deadbolts, cylinder locks, classroom locks, padlocks, file cabinet locks and student locks; plumbing, painting, masonry, grounds maintenance, HVAC, and within skill level, help all other maintenance personnel when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Ability to follow written and oral directions; possess effective mechanical aptitude; possess a working knowledge of mechanical and carpentry tools; ability to perform basic math skills; ability to maintain a safe work environment; ability to work in adverse weather conditions; ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength on a continual basis; ability to cooperate with other staff members; must be dependable and punctual

Preferred Qualifications:

• Career and Technology Education courses in carpentry, machining, and/or automotive repair
