We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused  Sandblaster to prepare, clean, and restore industrial equipment, machinery, structural steel, and other surfaces using abrasive blasting equipment. This position supports coalfield and industrial operations and requires the ability to work safely in demanding environments, follow established procedures, and maintain high standards of surface preparation.

The ideal candidate is hardworking, reliable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working around heavy equipment and industrial job sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal and other surfaces.
• Remove rust, scale, paint, corrosion, dirt, and other materials from equipment and components.
• Prepare surfaces for painting, coating, repair, or inspection.
• Set up and inspect blasting equipment, hoses, nozzles, air compressors, and related tools before use.
• Select and properly use abrasive materials appropriate for the assigned work.
• Maintain consistent blasting techniques to achieve required surface preparation standards.
• Clean and maintain blasting equipment and work areas.
• Assist with masking, covering, and protecting areas that should not be blasted.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and report damaged or unsafe equipment.
• Follow all company, customer, and job-site safety procedures.
• Properly wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE), including supplied-air respiratory protection when required.
• Work safely around heavy equipment, machinery, vehicles, and active industrial operations.
• Assist other crew members with general labor and job-site duties as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Complete assigned work efficiently while meeting quality and production expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous sandblasting, abrasive blasting, industrial painting, surface preparation, or related experience preferred.
• Experience in coalfield, mining, heavy-equipment, fabrication, construction, or industrial environments is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate blasting equipment and related tools.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify equipment problems.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
• Willingness to follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts when required by workload.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on job-site responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds or more with assistance when necessary.
• Ability to handle blasting hoses, tools, and equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to wear respiratory protection, blasting hoods, protective clothing, hearing protection, and other required PPE.
• Ability to work in confined or restricted areas when properly trained and authorized.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.

Work Environment

This position may involve work in  coalfield, mining, heavy-equipment, fabrication, shop, and industrial job-site environments . Employees may be exposed to dust, noise, abrasive materials, vibration, changing temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, and moving equipment.

Strict compliance with safety procedures and proper use of PPE are required at all times.

• Industrial surface preparation experience

• Knowledge of air compressors and blasting systems
