Portsmouth, NH.The Controls Engineer supports ongoing Lonza operations through technical assistance as it relates to the manufacturing and process automation systems. Provides a technical resource to operations customers to ensure that instrumentation and automation systems are designed and operating to meet production needs.What you will get:Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.Opportunities for career development and advancement.Supportive and collaborative team environment.Access to cutting-edge technology and tools.Commitment to employee well-being and safety.Inclusive workplace culture.Recognition and reward for your contributions.Access to our full list of global benefits: What you will do:Develop technical knowledge on manufacturing equipment and processes automation systems.Support resolution of equipment breakdowns and quality issues in the suites.Conduct troubleshooting and technical analyses on manufacturing equipment and processes automation systems including PI data analyses, review/troubleshooting code, etc.Assist with tech transfer, projects and process improvements as needed.Perform all work safely and meet the requisite training requirements.Initiates change controls and participates in all aspects of the change controls process.Complete change request lot assessments to support lot release.What we are looking for:Bachelor’s Degree is required (Engineering or Computer Science Strongly preferred; STEM degree is required).5-10 years of related work experience.Strong proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Siemens) and HMI development (e.g., FactoryTalk View, Wonderware).Experience with SCADA systems, data historians (e.g., OSI PI), and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).Solid understanding of cGMP regulations and GAMP 5 guidelines.Proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems and perform root cause analysis.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.About LonzaAt Lonza, our people are our greatest strength.
