Gannett Publishing Services / USA TODAY CO is seeking an experienced Electrician / Mechanical Technician to support production operations in Knoxville, TN. This role is ideal for a motivated maintenance professional with strong industrial electrical experience who can troubleshoot automated equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and help keep production equipment running safely and efficiently.

$500, based on background and work experience

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment breakdowns.
• Use analog and digital test equipment, electrical tools, and related diagnostic resources.
• Work with networked I/O, PLC networks, and industrial networking systems.
• Service, troubleshoot, and repair DC drives and servo drives.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace PLC components as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance to support equipment reliability.
• Follow applicable NEC and OSHA regulations.
• Complete other maintenance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Helpful Experience

• Ability to complete minor power projects, including conduit and wiring installation.
• Ability to read and understand complex electrical and pneumatic control diagrams.
• Knowledge of, or ability to use, machine shop equipment.
• HVAC experience.
• Familiarity with newspaper printing presses and mailroom processing equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial electrical or maintenance experience.
• Experience working with voltages of 600 volts or less and associated equipment.
• Strong communication skills and a motivated, team-oriented approach.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications or similar tools.

Schedule and Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, climbing and working from ladders and steps, working in some confined spaces, and performing periodic moderate to heavy lifting related to job duties.

Training

• On-the-job training will be provided where needed, and the team will assist with training to support success in the role.
