You'll get the instant gratification of seeing our customers enjoy all of the effort you've put into creating an equally beautiful and delicious menu item. Because we largely work with whole ingredients, you'll be prepping fresh veggies, preparing sides (like our Quinoa Salad and Potato Salad) making sauces and dressings, and slicing deli meats and cheeses. Black & Brew is a super busy cafe, so shifts as a Fresh Prep Team Member fly by! Don't worry though, you are always supported by a well-organized team and top-notch leaders. We keep the work environment professional, but light. We encourage and foster good working relationships and want to be a place you enjoy coming to work.Here's a sampling of your responsibilities:Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessibleFollow prep list created by managementFollow recipes to build scratch-made menu item componentsWork on a line creating sandwiches, salads and flatbreadsMaintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.Ensure all food and other items are stored properlyComply with nutrition and sanitation guidelinesPerform other kitchen duties as assignedRequirementsPrevious kitchen experience is always a plus, but a great attitude with a hunger to learn may trump experienceA team player with good communication skills and a POSITIVE attitudeManual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensilsAbility to stay positive and composed under pressureAbility to accommodate the physical requirements of the job: lifting, bending, long periods on your feetHigh School diploma or equivalent is desirableApplicants will also be expected to be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time and lift potentially heavy objects when necessary.
