Assistant or Associate Professor WOT - Complex Pediatric Airway Surgeon - Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Position Overview School / Campus / College: School of Medicine Organization: Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery Title: Assistant or Associate Professor WOT - Complex Pediatric Airway Surgeon - Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Position Details Position Description The University of Washington Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Seattle Children’s Hospital invites applications for a full-time pediatric otolaryngologist with a clinical and research focus in complex airway disorders at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor without tenure by reason of funding (WOT). The anticipated start date is July 1, 2027, but could be as soon as January 1, 2027. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for 3-year, renewable term that aligns with a 12-month Service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that aligns with a 12-month Service period (July 1-June 30). This position will be based at Seattle Children’s Hospital and affiliated ambulatory care centers. Clinical responsibilities include outpatient and surgical care, inpatient consultation and call, and the supervision and education of medical students, residents, and fellows. The successful candidate will care for children with complex airway, breathing, feeding, sleep, and swallowing conditions and collaborate closely with the Seattle Children’s Airway and Esophageal Center. These programs bring together otolaryngology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, speech and language pathology, nutrition, and other pediatric surgical specialties. The Division provides comprehensive pediatric otolaryngology care through multidisciplinary programs spanning aerodigestive and airway care, hearing loss and cochlear implantation, craniofacial conditions and velopharyngeal dysfunction, vascular anomalies, sleep, sinus, voice, thyroid disease, and cranial base surgery. The position offers significant opportunities for collaborative clinical, translational, outcomes, and surgical innovation research through the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Research Institute. More information on the department can be found at Salary: Assistant Professor WOT Rank: The base salary range for this position at the Assistant Professor WOT rank will be: $25,834 - $27,084 per month ($310,008 - $325,008 annually) based on a full-time rate commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children’s University Medical Group. Associate Professor WOT Rank: The base salary range for this position at the Associate Professor WOT rank will be: $34,167 - $36,667 per month ($410,004 - $440,004 annually) based on a full-time rate commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.
