Description:
Candidates will go straight to the manager for consideration.
This position requires working in a 25-bed critical access hospital.
The facility offers inpatient acute care, outpatient services, and emergency services.
The technician will be the only tech in the department after training and orientation.
Position requires the ability to make IVs.
Candidates must be licensed in the state of CA; those without a valid license will not be considered.
BLS certification and hospital pharmacy experience are mandatory.
The technician will provide restocks and retrieve medications from various areas and automate dispensing machines.
Common duties include preparing, packaging, unit doses, labeling, and restocking medications.
Technician will accurately deliver and retrieve medications to and from patient care units.
Using proper aseptic techniques, the technician prepares compounded non-hazardous sterile preparations.
Daily and weekly cleaning of the cleanroom environment and hazardous/non-hazardous IV hoods is required.
Emergency medication trays and boxes must be prepared and restocked.
Monitoring medication inventory for expiration dating and proper storage conditions is part of the job.
The technician will complete department quality control documentation.
Responding to phone and message requests from patient care units is required to assist in resolving medication-related issues.
Typical shifts are from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with some shifts ending at 3:00 PM on Sundays.
Weekend work is expected, particularly on Sundays.
Holidays may also require work as needed.
There is no on-call requirement for this position.
Dress code is Kelly green scrubs, with the option to wear a matching scrub jacket.
The facility has a cancellation policy allowing for up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
Experience with Cerner charting system is preferred.
A BSN is not required for this position.
