Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (HS Clin, Adjunct, Clin X, In-Res) Advanced Endoscopy University of California San Diego Position Overview The University of California, San Diego seeks highly skilled Endoscopists with expertise in Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD). Successful candidates will join our advanced endoscopy team and work with specialists in gastroenterology, surgery, oncology, and pathology. Salary Base pay range: $97,500 - $440,000. Salary is negotiated annually and may include additional compensation under the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Responsibilities Perform complex ESD procedures across a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders (e.g., Barrett's esophagus with early neoplasia, early gastric cancer, rectal adenomas, colorectal lesions, large sessile colonic polyps). Lead advanced tissue resection, manage challenging lesions, and develop novel endoscopic therapies. Provide outpatient clinic care to diagnose and treat gastroenterological conditions. Conduct research in endoscopy, device development, and education. Serve as a teaching faculty member for advanced endoscopy preceptorship and general gastroenterology fellowship programs. Perform GI endoscopic procedures in the suite or operating rooms. Participate in an on‑call rotation for gastroenterology emergencies and consultations. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in Gastroenterology or related field. Eligibility for a California medical license or equivalent certification. Board certification or board‑eligible status in Gastroenterology. Additional qualifications (required at time of start) Minimum of 1 year of training performing endoscopic submucosal dissection. Preferred qualifications Completion of GI fellowship training. Appointment Details The appointment level (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Applicants may be required to self‑fund the position. Members of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan are subject to restrictions on outside professional activities; clinical moonlighting is prohibited.
