Engineer, Quality - Customer (Athens, Alabama)

The Customer Quality Engineer supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System in compliance with IATF 16949 and Customer-Specific Requirements (CSRs). This role is execution-focused, working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to ensure audit readiness, product safety compliance, and effective corrective action execution in an automotive manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the maintenance and continuous improvement of the IATF 16949 Quality Management System aligned with CSRsPrepare documentation, evidence, and records required for IATF and auditsParticipate in internal audits, process audits, and layered process audits (LPA)Track and support closure of audit findings, customer issues, and corrective actionsSupport document control and change management processesAssist with preparation of Management Review data and quality KPIsSupport deployment of Customer-Specific Requirements into procedures and processesSupport PFMEA and Control Plan alignment with requirementsAssist in managing escalation, containment, and documentation related to issuesSupport APQP / PPAP documentation and evidence trackingProduct Safety & Risk ManagementSupport identification and control of product safety characteristicsAssist with PFMEA updates, risk prioritization, and action trackingEnsure Control Plans and work instructions reflect approved changesAudit & Compliance SupportSupport IATF certification, surveillance, and recertification auditsAssist with preparation for customer audits and assessmentsEnsure timely and accurate documentation of audit responsesTraining & Team SupportSupport training on IATF 16949 and CSR requirementsCoach operators and engineers on procedure compliancePromote an audit-ready, prevention-focused quality cultureQualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or related discipline2–5 years of automotive quality systems experienceWorking knowledge of IATF 16949 and CSRsInternal Auditor training preferredSuccess MeasuresOur Investment in You Competitive Compensation Packages 11 Paid Holidays PTO Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits 401k Savings Rewarding Healthy Behavior Program Life and Disability Insurance Supplemental Health Plans Employee Assistance Program Company Discount ProgramThank you for your interest in Yanfeng.
