Medical Lab Scientist ILocation: Shelton, CTOnsite Flexibility: OnsiteContract DetailsPosition Type: ContractContract Duration: 2 monthsPay Rate: $30.00–$40.00 / Hour (USD)Shift / Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PMWork Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.Review and release test results.Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.Education RequirementsBachelor's degree required; degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry strongly preferredTranscripts will be requested for review throughout the consideration processRequired Experience1 year of clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferredExperience with LC-MS or ICP-MS strongly preferredWork Environment / Physical RequirementsThe normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.Frequent walking and/or standing.May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.BenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the ClientThis organization is a world-leading provider of diagnostic information services in the healthcare industry, serving one in three adult Americans annually and supporting half of the physicians and hospitals across the United States, with laboratory operations extending internationally.
