Billing Clerk RepresentativeCypress Healthcare Partners is the Physician Practice Management group that supports Doctors on Duty, Salinas Valley Medical Clinic, Montage Medical Group, and many more. We are now hiring a full-time, onsite Billing Clerk Representative.The Billing Clerk is a daily onsite position that will assist billing and collection/administration departments with the responsibility of billing, and payment collection of Cypress Healthcare Partners and its affiliated clinics. Duties include typing/data entry, filing, telephone communications with patients and insurance companies, as well as general clerical tasks.Key Responsibilities & Duties:Ensures that goals and objectives established in conjunction with senior management and the Billing and Collection Team are attained.Sorts and distributes daily incoming mail and transmittal mail.Prepares and stuffs mailers and appropriate forms to payers and/or patients.Becomes familiar with the EOB. Learns to identify the patient's name, date of service, amounts billed and amounts paid.Stays informed of changes in billing procedures that impact process and/or reimbursement effectiveness.Distributes patient medical records, EOBs, and other paperwork to the appropriate staff.Processes correspondence and requests from payers.Posts all necessary notations on accounts. Documentation in the "Comments" and "Reminders" sections of accounts is critical and mandatory.Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally, and written. Additional languages are desirable.Excellent customer service and phone etiquette skills.Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and work well under productivity standards.Able to prioritize and balance the workload on short and long-term company needs.Must be able to work independently and be able to solve problems efficiently and accurately.Able to create channels of communication to obtain information necessary to perform job tasks.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload.Must be comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Helpful attitude, positive teamwork spirit with a willingness to help.Credentials/Education/ExperienceHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required.Schedule: Reliable daily onsite attendance Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
