PICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The position involves providing specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment.

Orientation and Schedule

Initial orientation of 12 hours, including 6 hours of non-billable orientation.
Schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Every other weekend commitment required, with flexibility to adjust weekend duties based on weekly coverage needs.
Holiday availability as needed.

Responsibilities

The PICU Registered Nurse will be expected to:

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Float to Edward NICU or Elmhurst Special Care Nursery as necessary.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Administer medications and treatments effectively and safely.

Qualifications

Current Illinois RN License.
BLS and PALS certifications required.
Minimum of one year of experience in a tertiary PICU setting.
Not open to new graduates.
Completion of at least one travel contract is required.
Skills checklist must be submitted, completed within the last year.

Documentation Requirements

Documentation including a current resume, two references from PICU supervisors obtained within the last year, and verification of Illinois licensure is necessary.

Additional Information

Credentials due by Thursday before the start date.
Payroll processed biweekly through Simplr.
