Disability Coordinator

Overview Disability Coordinator: Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive mental health services to include behavioral and mental health services for Head Start children. Coordinates the enrolling of children with disabilities and ensures that all children are screened within federal and state guidelines. Partners with LEA's, health care agencies, dental and other professionals to ensure that all services are provided as identified. Must have an understanding of the Head Start philosophy and familiarity with early childhood development. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and implement comprehensive mental health services for Head Start children, including behavioral health services. Coordinate enrollment of children with disabilities and ensure timely screening according to federal and state guidelines. Collaborate with LEAs, health care agencies, dental professionals, and other providers to ensure identified services are delivered. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; mental health experience is preferred. Understanding of the Head Start philosophy and familiarity with early childhood development. Current First Aid and CPR certification. MAT certification.
