With over 20 years of experience, ICON Eyecare’s team of board-certified doctors in commitment to delivering the highest-quality eye care in Colorado.What we do…Our mission is to improve people’s lives through better vision and outstanding patient experiences.What you will do…Counsel and educate the patient about their upcoming surgery and lens optionsSet surgery dates, including all post-surgical/treatment appointmentsSend necessary paperwork to authorization specialist for eligibility, benefits and authorizationConfirm pre-certification from insurance carriers received prior to procedureDiscuss implant options and self-pay fees including financing optionsCollect fees for specialty lensesCollect co-insurance or co-pays when applicableIssue refunds for cancelled surgeriesCreate H&P’sSend for Medical or Retinal clearance as necessaryObtain eyelid surgery authorizationsAnswer patient callsSend surgery operative notes, transfer of care letter, post-op form and post-op drop instructions to referring Optometrists (may be owned by Co-Man instead of Surgical Counselor)QA surgery chartsWhat we require…High school diploma or general education degree (GED).At least two years of work experience in a medical office setting.Prior Surgical Counseling experience preferred.Previous sales background is required.Knowledge of insurance carrier policies and proceduresUse of kindness, empathy and patience when dealing with our patient populationAttention to detailComfortable with sales aspect of specialty lensesAbility to multi-taskAbility to work as a team memberRequires skills in operating computers, EHR, word processing software, fax machines and copier machines.Cooperates and effectively communicates with all staff members and physicians about patient matters.Word processing software, Microsoft Word.Bilingual in Spanish preferredKnowledge of basic eye care and hygienic methods and practices involving the treatment of the eye.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.Knowledge of medical terminology.Strong knowledge of pharmacy abbreviationsWhat we offer…MedicalDentalVision DiscountsEducational reimbursements for COA OR COT certifications401(k) with generous company match and 100% vesting upon contribution.Life InsuranceShort Term & Long-Term Disability optionsEmployee Assistance ProgramGenerous time off plans and company paid holidays.Uniform allowanceICON Eyecare is a full-service, medical ophthalmology provider offering comprehensive eye care, LASIK, vision correction, and cataract procedures in Denver, Lone Tree, Golden, Westminster, Parker and Aurora.
