Regional Travel Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) - Northeast Texas (NETX) Region

Overview Texas Oncology is seeking a Regional Float Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! In this role, you’ll provide essential cross‑coverage support in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Infusion nursing units, rotating through select clinics throughout the Northeast Texas (NETX) Region. Sites include: Frisco, Frisco West, Allen, McKinney South, McKinney North, Plano West, Garland, Rowlett, Castle Hills, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Denton, Denison, and Greenville. Schedule Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5 pm. Perks No weekends, on‑call, or major holidays. Responsibilities Assessing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating patient care. Conducting health assessments, obtaining patient histories, and providing education. Offering psychosocial support to patients and families. Safely preparing and administering therapies (medications, blood products) in accordance with governing standards. Performing venipuncture, accessing ports, and maintaining central lines. Monitoring labs, facilitating dose modifications per protocol, and consulting with providers for orders. Managing triage calls, symptom management, and medication management with accurate documentation. Assisting patients in accessing community resources. Opportunity to cross‑train and expand into subspecialty areas (Gyn Onc, BMT, Pediatrics) as the Float Pool role evolves. Following the Nursing Float Pool Playbook for role‑and‑assignment‑specific expectations. Qualifications Level I Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Entry‑level 0‑3 years nursing experience, one (1) year strongly preferred for float pool. Flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to thrive in diverse clinical environments. Excellent critical thinking and communication abilities. Comfort supporting multiple areas of oncology care, with interest in developing skills in subspecialties such as Gyn Onc, BMT, or Pediatrics. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or prior oncology/infusion/radiation experience preferred. Strong IV and central line skills preferred. Comfort with EHR systems (OncoEMR, Epic, or similar). Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Level II In addition to level I: Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level Senior In addition to levels I and II: Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred. Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
