Store Manager

Summary Location: Hazel Green, Alabama (Hazel Green Shoppes). Hourly: $15.00 - $19.50. Title: Store Manager. Department: Operations. Status: Non‑Exempt. Reports to: District Sales Manager. The Store Manager oversees and is responsible for the store's sales efforts in each department and supervises the overall operation to ensure efficiency and profitability. The Manager enforces the organization's policies, goals, and standards with the sales team to meet sales goals. The Manager consistently communicates with the District Sales Manager and the Store Support Center to drive initiatives and business growth. The Manager represents the company’s brand in appearance, attitude, and professionalism toward employees, customers, and the community. The Manager possesses knowledge of each product area or department in the store and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and promoting merchandise. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Driving store sales and sales goals, consistently focused on company growth. Managing and controlling the assets of the company by overseeing the designated store. Directing and overseeing entire sales efforts in the store. Training and mentoring store associates in sales strategies and skills. Being constantly acquainted with all aspects of the store, including sales statistics, inventory, and expenses that together produce profit. Consulting and collaborating with the District Sales Manager to establish and enforce policies, goals, and procedures. Directing staff to ensure all responsibilities and standards in each department are completed. Mentoring and cultivating a team of outstanding Sales Associates, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training. Recruiting, hiring, training, disciplining, and evaluating personnel. Managing the store’s payroll and schedule to meet labor goals. Maintaining proper security for the store. Partnering with Asset Protection to prevent theft and reduce shrink. Communicating with the District Sales Manager and keeping them informed of inventory movement. Achieving inventory goals and strategies. Providing information and following through on all marketing and advertising plans, staying aware of customer trends. Keeping abreast of competition and new ideas, and staying informed of community events to seize opportunities. Producing extraordinary customer service as highlighted in the customer service manual, including assisting customers upon entry and handling multiple customers during peak periods. Protecting the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and reporting potential fraud risk. Supervisory Responsibilities Managing subordinate supervisors and non‑management employees, including Sales Associates, Hub Drivers, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training. Providing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience. Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel. Experience in managing and cultivating a sales team. 3‑5 years of customer service experience. 3+ years of management experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Analytical thinker with demonstrated business acumen. Ability to problem‑solve and juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
