Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift Acute Care position requiring 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute Care Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• 44-bed unit with 40 staff members
• Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for both day and night shifts
• CNAs available at 1:8, generally 1:10 ratio, also utilized as sitters
• Uses MEDITECH EMR, experience preferred but not required
• 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a
• Required to work every other weekend
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required to all acute care units and cardiac unit for medical patients, or EC for acute care patient holds
• Telemetry monitoring available, though monitored on a different unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS (both AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 1 travel assignment required
• BSN not required for this position

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg acute care unit
• General orientation is 1 week, including EMR training
• Floor-specific orientation is 2 days
• Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
