Position Details Position: Charge Nurse Job Type: Full‑Time; Non‑Exempt Shift Details: Rotating Schedule (every other weekend off) – 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM Work Location: Crisis – Franklin County Crisis Care Center, Columbus, OH Salary/Hourly Wage: $48.00 – $51.00 /hour Specialties / Licenses or Certifications Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Valid and current state‑specific Nursing license (Compact licensure preferred). Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting. Summary of Job The Charge Nurse oversees the medical, psychiatric, substance abuse, and nursing care of individuals served. The Charge Nurse also oversees unit staff in clinical matters, including Registered Nurses, Behavioral Health Technicians, Peer Support Specialists, and Milieu Specialists. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Guest Care & Advocacy : Ensures completion of designated assessments for all individuals brought to the facility, develops plans and recovery solutions in partnership with the individual, and supervises special diet requirements as needed. Team Leadership : Supervises the nursing services for the assigned shift, including patient assignments and safety in the facility; supervises and/or provides nursing treatment and monitoring. Compliance & Risk Management : Assists leadership in ensuring that nursing care meets licensing regulations and accreditation standards; maintains medical and nursing supplies and equipment and monitors their safety and effectiveness; administers medication as required by protocol; initiates and/or ensures appropriate response to medical emergencies in accordance with protocol and policy; completes clinical documentation as required; keeps abreast of federal and state regulations and Recovery Innovations policies as they exist and change; understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as outlined in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies. Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Provides treatment and makes dispositions and referrals in consultation with the team; coordinates relationships with outside medical and nursing support services, including pharmacy and laboratory services. Additional Duties : Performs other related duties assigned. Job Requirements Education/Licenses : Registered Nurse from an accredited school; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; Valid and current state‑specific Nursing license (Compact licensure preferred). Experience : Minimum of one (1) year in a behavioral health setting. Skills : Basic computer skills; strong attention to detail; problem‑solving; verbal and written communication; effective listening; excellent documentation; ability to pass de‑escalation training as state requirements dictate. Driving Requirements : If driving is required, meet all Recovery Innovations driving policy; if not qualified, sign a Non‑Driver Attestation. Miscellaneous : Travel may be required; must be at least 18 years old unless state regulation differs; maintain confidentiality under HIPAA; complete credentialing; comply with second‑chance employer background checks and tests (education verification, fingerprinting clearance, motor vehicle report). Physical Demands May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling; finger dexterity; eye‑hand‑foot coordination; use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to 20 pounds. Work Environment Work may be performed in an office environment or behavioral health facility. Contact with agitated and/or confused individuals may occur. Travel throughout the geographic region may be required. State Addendums Arizona : Must be 21 years or older. Delaware : Must be 21 years or older. Louisiana : Must be 24 years or older. Maryland : Must be 21 years or older. North Carolina : Must be 21 years or older. Ohio : Must be 21 years or older. Washington : Licensed RN with at least 1 year of experience preferred (MHP level).
