Machine Technician

Location: Lithia Springs Manufacturing Plant, 465 Riverside Parkway, Lithia Springs, GA Work scheduled: 1st and 2nd shift – 40 hours per week (may include overtime & weekend work) Position Description Under the direct supervision of the Machinery Lead Technician. Requirements: 2 to 4 years hands on experience in industrial settings. Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance and repair of injection molding machinery & support equipment. Rigs, installs and tests injection molding machinery and support equipment. Work under general supervision with creativity and latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions. Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service electrical, hydraulic, electronic, material handling, chilled water, pneumatic systems and other production support equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance services per written PM instructions on all production equipment. Install machinery under guidance of Plant Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, and Machinery Lead Technician. Fabricate and install safety devices, access platforms, water systems, and electrical services. May train others on specific jobs. Perform related work as assigned. General Qualification Guidelines Experience and Education Experience and formal training in industrial mechanics required. High school graduation or equivalent required. Graduation from trade school or two‑year college majoring in industrial mechanics required. Specialized training in maintenance crafts highly desired. Might be required to complete formal training in specialty areas. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Above average experience and understanding of industrial machinery mechanics, electricity, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and pipefitting, solvent welding of PVC, metal cutting, welding, brazing, rigging, and safety procedures. Qualified to work on electrical systems up to 480 volts per NDS defined procedures. Familiar with safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment common to maintenance of industrial systems and machinery. Certified forklift operator. Physical Requirements Requires standing, stretching, bending, walking, lifting, and transporting a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to climb silo ladders to an elevation of 40’. Work involves exposure to oils, lubricants, greases, water treatment chemicals, cleaning chemicals, cleaning and disposal equipment, paint equipment, high noise levels, and welding fumes. Non‑smoking environment. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as appropriate. Requirements Must furnish standard hand tools and toolbox per attached Tool List. Must wear protective footwear during all work hours (steel‑toed boots). Must wear provided eye protection and hearing protection. Must follow all company safety rules and regulations and be proactive in protecting self, subordinates, and company assets from harm. Pay range: $22.00 – $37.00 per hour.
