Please click here to learn more about our locations.Shriners Portland is looking for a PRN, Medical Assistant to join the team!The Medical Assistant (MA) will support and facilitate clinic operations by performing clinical, clerical, and technical duties, including patient rooming, documentation during visits, assisting with minor procedures, managing supplies, supporting Telehealth services when applicable, and flexing to administrative support when needed. This role requires strong communication skills, clinical competence, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure an optimal care experience for patients and families.Key Responsibilities:Performs all aspects of direct patient care according to current Outpatient Clinic "Standards of Care." Documents interventions per policy and lists plan consistentlyObtains patient history and vital signsPrepares and maintains exam and treatment areasObtains and graphs patient's weight, height, arm span, and head circumference according to Outpatient Clinic "Growth Chart Graphing (Plotting)"Lab work completed the same day orderedAssists with monitoring supplies and equipment with PCA/cast tech. Maintains equipment and notifies supervisor/manager when new equipment is neededApplying non-corrective casts at physician's directionSafely removing casts, cleans patient, covers affected limb and instructs family on skin careRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma/GEDCertified Medical AssistantBasic Life Support (BLS)Preferred Qualifications:Associate DegreeRMA, CCMA, NCMA1 year Pediatric/Ambulatory CareEMR SystemsCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
