Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Conducting thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Creating tailored treatment plans to meet immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Delivering individualized speech therapy interventions concentrating on language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing functions.
- Partnering with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish effective integrated care strategies.
- Providing education to patients and families to reinforce therapeutic progress beyond clinical visits.
- Participating in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care during the treatment journey.
- Maintaining comprehensive and timely documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engaging in continuous professional development to stay abreast of the latest field advancements through education and collaboration.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for patients of all ages, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to customize therapy approaches to address and celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Excellent clinical judgment and adept problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation standards.
