General Information

Tell us about the unit(s):

· Number of Beds – 18

· Number of Staff – see below

· Type of staff:

o Day Shift – 1 charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 1 LPN, 1-2 PCTs, 1 unit secretary

o Night Shift – 1 charge RN, 2-3 RNs, 1 LPN, 1-2 PCTs

· Patient Ratios – 6:1, Goal is for charge nurse to be out of staffing to assist.

· Type of equipment – Baxter IV pumps, Wound vacs, SCDS, prima-fits, primo-fits

· EMR – Cerner Powerchart

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for:

Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

· Medical/surgical nursing experience

· Telemetry

Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.

· Charge nurse experience

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):

· Peripheral IV starts

· Dressing changes

· Other standard medical surgical skills

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

· BLS

Floating Area(s):

· Other medical surgical units, ED holding medical/surgical patients.

Dress Code :

· Scrub Color/Attire – all navy, all white, or white top and navy pants, navy or white undershirts if needed.

Unit Guidelines/Policies :

· Travelers float before permanent staff.

Weekends and On call (if any)

· Weekends: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
