Job Description
The Recovery Support Staff plays a vital role in maintaining the daily structure within the community. They are responsible for observing client behavior, reporting progress, and ensuring that all scheduled groups and activities are adhered to.
Responsibilities

• Monitor and closely supervise all floor and dayroom activities.
• Facilitate and/or participate in meetings.
• Communicate all incidents to the supervisor.
• Provide feedback to primary counselors and other treatment staff when necessary.
• Collect and handle medical documents when clients return from their appointments and ensure proper filing.
• Collect medical cards from clients after appointments and ensure all follow-ups are completed.
• Witness and log client urine screenings and observe and log the readings of the alcohol sensor (Breathalyzer).

Essential Skills

• Customer service and healthcare experience.
• Experience working with substance abusers and/or the mentally ill.
• Understanding of therapeutic community dynamics, procedures, and concepts.
• Ability to enforce agency policies and procedures.
• Good communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to sit for approximately six hours a day.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The role requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The work involves close interaction with clients and staff, necessitating strong communication and organizational skills.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Bronx, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
