POSITION OVERVIEW

Graphic Designer supports Compass Senior Living communities and Home Office initiatives by creating accurate, engaging, and on-brand visual communications across print and digital formats. The role independently manages multiple projects, priorities, timelines, approvals, and stakeholder communications while maintaining organized, company-accessible design files and resources.

This position partners with community teams, regional leaders, Home Office departments, vendors, and other designers to translate business needs into effective creative solutions. The Graphic Designer is responsible for protecting brand consistency, supporting companywide and community-specific campaigns, coordinating specialized production, maintaining assigned design systems and resources, and providing training and process support.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, organization, responsiveness, sound judgment, and dependable follow-through. The Graphic Designer proactively communicates project status and barriers, performs thorough quality-control reviews, and ensures final materials are accurate, properly formatted, accessible to the Company, and delivered within established timelines.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities unless otherwise assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Graphic Design & Project Management

• Manage multiple concurrent graphic design projects with clear priorities, realistic timelines, and dependable follow-through.
• Review incoming requests for completeness, urgency, scope, and required approvals; clarify missing information promptly.
• Confirm receipt of requests, establish expected timelines, create proofs, manage revisions, secure approvals, and deliver final files in required formats.
• Maintain visibility of active, pending, blocked, and completed projects and coordinate workload or coverage with other designers as needed.
• Provide day-to-day creative support for assigned regions and assigned Home Office work.
• Provide proactive status updates and identify barriers, decisions, or approvals needed before they affect deadlines.
• Use established request, proofing, approval, and archiving processes consistently.

Brand & Collateral Management

• Maintain corporate and community logo libraries, brand assets, approved templates, and related creative resources.
• Create and update business cards, envelopes, folders, letterhead, name badges, notecards, review cards, QR cards, rate materials, tiered sheets, brochures, referral cards, meal cards, and other collateral.
• Support uniforms, recruitment materials, Warm Welcome items, promotional products, and other branded materials.
• Maintain editable source files, print-ready files, web-ready files, and archived versions in organized, company-accessible locations.
• Identify outdated or discontinued materials and remove them from active use in accordance with established processes.

Campaigns, Events & Community Support

• Develop and maintain companywide and community-specific campaign and incentive graphics.
• Create community-branded versions of campaign materials and track completion across assigned communities.
• Create community-branded move-in and open-to-the-public event graphics and provide the various file formats required for use.
• Retain master templates and approved final versions to support efficient future updates.

Specialized Design & Production

• Create and coordinate specialized projects such as bus wraps, flyer footers, signage, and other nonstandard formats.
• Support logo development and marketing collateral for new acquisitions, rebrands, and community transitions as assigned.
• Prepare production files using appropriate dimensions, bleeds, color profiles, resolution, and export settings.
• Coordinate vendor estimates, proofs, ordering, production, delivery, and issue resolution for assigned projects.
• Perform quality-control reviews for spelling, grammar, branding, dimensions, contact details, links, print specifications, and overall accuracy before release.

Systems & Platform Administration

• Maintain the SharePoint Graphic Design section, libraries, instructions, links, and current resources.
• Maintain Formsite forms used by Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, Employee Status, Accounting/EHR, and other assigned workflows, including routing, notifications, administrators, and documentation.
• Maintain Alpha Impressions collateral, product information, and one community login/access record per community.
• Maintain a clear and transparent project-tracking system, including project details, templates, deadlines, status updates, and records. Example: Asana.
• Ensure platform ownership, design assets, and business files remain organized and under company-controlled accounts.

Training & Team Support

• Schedule and conduct Graphic Design Process training for new team members as assigned.
• Maintain training presentations, written instructions, examples, and attendance records.
• Provide clear guidance regarding request submission, proof review, approvals, and established graphic design processes.
• Keep training sessions organized, on time, and focused on the documented process.
• Collaborate professionally and efficiently with community teams, regional leaders, Home Office partners, vendors, and other designers.

Reporting, Communication & Accountability

• Provide weekly written project status updates by established deadlines.
• Report completed work, current priorities, upcoming deadlines, barriers, and decisions needed.
• Escalate timeline risks before they affect launches, events, printing, or community operations.
• Arrive prepared for one-on-one and project meetings with current status, progress, and next steps.
• Document significant project decisions and keep requestors informed through completion.
• Maintain awareness of active requests and communications so each project has a clear owner, status, deadline, and next action.

Success Indicators

• Priority projects have a clear owner, status, deadline, and next action.
• Requestors receive timely communication without repeated follow-up from leadership.
• Final materials are accurate, on brand, properly formatted, and easy to locate.
• Time-sensitive initiatives are identified and advanced before deadlines become urgent.
• Training and support interactions are clear, professional, and appropriately paced.
• Leadership can understand current workload and risk from the project tracker and weekly update.
• Barriers or potential timeline impacts are communicated promptly to leadership so appropriate support can be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Associate or bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Professional graphic design experience producing both print and digital materials.
• Demonstrated proficiency with professional design software and tools used to create, edit, prepare, and export production-ready creative materials.
• Experience managing multiple projects, stakeholders, revisions, approvals, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong layout, typography, branding, and production skills.
• Experience supporting multi-location organizations, senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or a related service industry is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, layout, branding, color, image resolution, and print-production requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to independently proof work for accuracy and brand consistency.
• Strong organizational, project-management, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication and the ability to translate stakeholder needs into effective creative solutions.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing needs, and communicate risks or barriers proactively.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across communities, departments, leadership levels, and external vendors.
• Working knowledge of file organization, version control, digital asset management, and company-controlled cloud collaboration environments.
• Ability to learn and maintain workflow platforms and systems used by the organization, including SharePoint, Formsite, Asana, vendor portals, and related tools.

TRAVEL
