The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in supporting primary care settings by efficiently managing patient care processes. This role involves preparing patients, monitoring vital signs, and assisting clinical staff to ensure smooth healthcare delivery within a high-volume environment. The CMA is responsible for accurate clinical documentation, specimen collection, and medication administration, fostering effective communication and coordination with patients and healthcare teams without the need for travel between clinic locations.

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• We are looking for Part-time and/or Full time employees
• Must be able to work 1/2 a day on a Saturday w/the provider--
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately
• Document clinical information effectively in electronic health records (EHR)
• Collect specimens for lab testing following protocols
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow
• Verify insurance and handle related administrative tasks
• Ensure sterilization and maintenance of clinical equipment
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients

 

Required Qualifications

• Certificate from an accredited medical assistant program
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG administration
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care protocols
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
• Strong communication and time management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medical assisting
