The Application Engineer serves as a technical liaison between customers, sales teams, and engineering groups to support the successful implementation of advanced electromechanical and energy-related technologies. This role focuses on translating customer requirements into effective technical solutions, providing application support, and assisting with system integration efforts across a variety of industrial and commercial applications.

The position requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work directly with customers to support product deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.

• Support product integration activities and assist customers during implementation and deployment phases.

• Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.

• Troubleshoot system and component performance issues and conduct root-cause investigations as needed.

• Assist in the development of technical proposals, project documentation, and customer-facing presentations.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and business development.

• Serve as a technical resource during customer meetings, project reviews, and onsite visits.

• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Maintain strong customer relationships through responsive and professional support.

• Travel to customer locations as needed to support projects, installations, and technical reviews.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of experience in application engineering, systems engineering, technical support, field engineering, or a similar customer-facing engineering role.

• Experience translating customer requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience supporting complex electrical, mechanical, software, or integrated systems.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work directly with customers, project teams, and business stakeholders.

• Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, transportation, automation, or technology-based products.

• Ability and willingness to travel as business needs require.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting highly technical products or engineered solutions.

• Background working with integrated hardware and software systems.

• Customer-facing experience in technical sales support, field support, or implementation activities.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and applications.

Work Environment

This position offers a combination of office-based collaboration, customer interaction, and occasional field support. The Application Engineer will work closely with technical and commercial teams while supporting customer projects across a variety of industries. The role involves a mix of independent problem solving, team collaboration, and direct customer engagement in professional office, manufacturing, and operational environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $86000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
